  • Select the Advanced tab and make sure the Use Cached Exchange Mode is selected.
  • Select close.

For Microsoft Outlook 2007

  • In the Tools menu select Account Settings.
  • Select the Data Files tab and set Mailbox-account name as default.
  • Click Email Tab.
  • In this select Mailbox-account name and select settings.
  • Select the Advanced tab and make sure the Use Cached Exchange Mode is selected.
  • Select close.
  • Exit Outlook and then reopen it.

After checking the profile settings, you can deploy one of the following methods to synchronize your folders again:

Manual Synchronization

  • From the folder list select the folder you want to synchronize.
  • In the Tools option select Send/Receive and then select This Folder (Exchange Server) to synchronize the selected folder.
  • To synchronize all offline folders select Send/Receive All.

Note: If you have not synchronized your offline folders from a long time or your mailbox contain a large number of items, this process may take up to 30 minutes.

Automatic Synchronization

  • Select Tools menu and then select Options.
  • Select the Mail Setup tab.
  • In Send/Receive tab, check Send Immediately when Connected checkbox.
  • Select Send/Receive.
  • In the Send/Receive Groups box, select the Perform an automatic send/receive while exiting.
  • Click Close and then Ok.

Issue 4: All the folders except Inbox folder are synchronizing or any of the folders is not synchronizing.

Root Cause: The cause of the problem is damaged OST file.

Resolution: To resolve this issue it is recommended to create a new OST File by renaming the old OST file and then synchronizing the new file with Exchange Server.

Steps for Renaming the Old OST File:

  • Exit all programs.
  • Select start and then in the search tab Write Files and Folders.
  • In All or part of the file name option, type *.ost.
  • Select the hard disk in look in option.
  • In More Advanced option, click Include subfolders checkbox and then click search.
  • In the name column, you can find the.ost File.
  • Right click on the.ost file and then select Rename.
  • After renaming the file, in File menu select close.
  • Start Outlook.
  • In tools, menu select Send/Receive and then click on Send/Receive All.
